The Observer Network of the Marine Environment of the Canary Islands (RedPROMAR) is a tool of the Government of the Canary Islands for monitoring and supervising marine life in the archipelago. This is an information system that registers the continuous changes that are occurring in our oceans, using the "Citizen science" concept
Macaronesia is the name given to the group of five archipelagos in the North Atlantic: Azores, Canary Islands, Cape Verde, Madeira and Savage Islands. The term comes from Greek and means "islands of the fortunate", according to mythology this was the home of the heroes that died in the far west.
At RedPROMAR we want to make things easy for you. Download our free app and with a few simple steps you can register your observations. Available for iOS and Android.
We present a guide with over 300 marine species and updated images to help you to identify the organisms.
With a few simple steps, you can provide the location, species and photograph for validation of the record.
Through visualisation on a map, you can make your records in real time.
Receive alerts immediately about the conditions of our coasts: beaches with jellyfish, beached animals, etc.
Our intention is to reach every corner of the Canary Islands. Here we will inform you of the events that may be of interest to you.
We want to reward our observers, consult our ranking and see the most active users.
